File Setup for Custom Printed Banners
To help your banner print accurately and look its best, please prepare your artwork using these guidelines:
- Color Mode – Create and save all artwork in CMYK color mode. RGB colors may change when converted for printing.
- Resolution – Images should be at least 150 DPI at the final banner size. For banners viewed at close range, 200–300 DPI is recommended whenever possible.
- Document Size – Build your artwork at the exact finished banner size. If your design program cannot accommodate the full size, you may submit it at half scale with twice the required resolution.
- Bleed – Add 0.125″ (1/8″) bleed on all sides. Background colors and images should extend completely through the bleed area.
- Safe Area – Keep important wording, logos, phone numbers, and other critical elements at least 2″ inside the finished edge. This prevents important content from interfering with hems, grommets, or other finishing.
- Grommet Area – Grommets are normally installed around the perimeter of the banner. Avoid placing important text or design elements close to the edges where grommets will be positioned.
- Pole Pockets – If your banner requires pole pockets, allow additional space at the appropriate edge. Please indicate the desired pole-pocket size and location when requesting your quote.
- Preferred File Format – We recommend submitting a print-ready PDF/X-4 file. We can also accept high-resolution JPEG, TIFF, EPS, or Adobe Illustrator files.
- Fonts – Convert all fonts to outlines or embed them before saving your final file.
- Images and Graphics – Embed all linked images and verify that they have sufficient resolution at the final printed size.
- Large Black Areas – For deeper black backgrounds, use a rich-black CMYK build instead of black ink alone. We recommend C60 M40 Y40 K100 for large black areas.
- Crop Marks – Please do not include crop marks unless specifically requested.

Full-Color Banner Printing
Our custom banners are digitally printed in full color using the CMYK printing process. Cyan,
magenta, yellow, and black inks are combined to reproduce photographs, logos, gradients, and a
wide range of colors.
Vibrant, High-Quality Color
Wide-format digital printing produces bold colors, sharp lettering, and detailed graphics that are
easy to see from a distance. Full-color printing is included, so your banner can contain multiple
colors, photographs, and design elements without being limited to one or two ink colors.
Preparing Colors for Printing
For the most accurate results, artwork should be created and submitted in CMYK color mode.
Files submitted in RGB will be converted to CMYK before printing, which may cause some bright colors to appear slightly different.
Computer monitors and mobile devices display colors using illuminated RGB light. Printed banners use CMYK inks, so an exact match between the screen and finished banner cannot always be guaranteed.
White Areas
Our banners are printed on white vinyl. Areas that appear white in the design normally receive no ink, allowing the white banner material to show through.
Black Backgrounds
For deeper black backgrounds and large black areas, we recommend using a rich-black color build of C60 M40 Y40 K100 instead of 100% black alone.

What information should I include on my banner?
Keep your message short and easy to read. Include the most important information, such as your business name, event, offer, phone number, website, or call to action. Large lettering and strong color contrast will make the banner easier to read from a distance.

Are hems and grommets available?
Yes. Banners can be finished with reinforced hems and metal grommets to make installation easier and improve durability. Pole pockets may also be available for banners that will be displayed on poles or banner stands.
How should I hang my banner?
Banners can be installed using rope, bungee cords, hooks, or heavy-duty zip ties through the grommets. The banner should be supported evenly and pulled snug without overstretching it. Proper installation helps prevent sagging and reduces stress on the corners and grommets.
How long will an outdoor banner last?
Banner life depends on the material, installation method, weather exposure, wind conditions, and how well the banner is maintained. An 18 oz vinyl banner is recommended when greater strength and longer outdoor use are required.
Are vinyl banners weather resistant?
Vinyl banners are moisture and weather resistant, but severe wind and storms can damage any outdoor banner. For the longest life, install the banner securely and remove it during severe weather whenever possible.
How should I clean and store my banner?
Wipe the banner gently with a soft cloth, mild soap, and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Allow it to dry completely, then roll it with the printed side facing outward. Do not fold the banner, because folding may create permanent creases.
How much does a custom banner cost?

How long does banner printing take?
Production time depends on the banner size, quantity, finishing, artwork readiness, and current workload. If your banner is needed for a specific event or opening date, provide that date when requesting your quote so we can confirm availability.
